ഏലി ചേടത്തി എന്നെ
കോച്ചാന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പെരുന്നാളിന്
കൈപിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയ ഓർമ്മ
ചുക്കിന്റെയും, കുരുമുളകിന്റെയും മണമുള്ള ;
പടുകൂറ്റൻ ജനലുകളുള്ള
പാതയോരത്തെ വീട്
മലയാളത്തിൽ തോറാത്തോത്തുന്ന ജൂതത്തി
തൊപ്പിവെച്ച കോച്ച
കറുത്ത മരപ്പലകയുള്ള മേശമേൽ
ഞങ്ങൾക്കാഹാരം വിളമ്പി
അവരുടെ പുണ്യനാളായിരുന്നു
ഞങ്ങളന്നു തിന്നത്
പശുവിറച്ചിയായിരുന്നു.
