What information we collect
The information we gather falls into two categories:
- Personal information you voluntarily supply when you subscribe, share a feedback or make a donation
- Non-personal tracking information collected as you navigate through our site.
Personal Information You Voluntarily Provide
We may request and collect certain personal information from our users, such as name, mailing address, email address, and contact number.
When you make a donation, you will be asked to provide certain personal information, which may include your name, street address, city, state, zip code, email address, and phone number (landline and/or mobile), credit/debit card details while making payment (via gateways). The policies of the third party gateways are applicable in that case.
We may also collect certain non-personally identifiable information via the Site, such as usage activity and preferences, as well as demographic or profile data.
Paid Products and Services
While our magazine is free, we do accept donations and occasionally sell products. To enable this, we collect and store billing information. This information will only be shared with third parties who perform tasks required to complete the transaction. Examples of this include fulfilling orders and processing credit card payments.
Cookies and Other Technologies
As is standard practice on many websites, PhotoMail uses “cookies” and other technologies to keep, and sometimes track, information about you. This will help us to understand which parts of our website are the most popular, where our visitors are going and how much time they spend there. We use Google analytics to do some of this collection. We reserve the right to change the vendors who provide us with usage data. We use the IP address log in an aggregate fashion to track access to our site. Log data is used in aggregate to analyze usage of our website.
We may permit third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Site. These companies may use non-personal, aggregate information about your visits to our Site in order to provide advertisements about goods and services that may be of interest to you. These companies may employ cookies, clear gifs or other tracking mechanisms to measure advertising effectiveness. Any information that these third parties collect is generally not personally identifiable (unless, for example, you provide personally identifiable information to them through an ad or email message). How we use and share your personal information
We may use Personal Information collected on and through our Site for a variety of purposes. This information is primarily for internal record keeping, or to evaluate what portions of the Site are more popular than others, determine where visitors came from, where they go, and how long they stay on a particular page or a Site in general. We may match information collected from you, including both Personal Information and website usage information, and use such information along with information obtained from other sources, including third parties to determine, for example audience segments. We may perform statistical, demographic and marketing analyses of subscribers, and their subscribing and purchasing patterns, for marketing and customer service purposes. We may also send promotional emails to the ids you have voluntarily shared with us. We will not share the information with any other third party. We will not sell, rent, swap or authorize any third party to use your email address without your permission. If you would like to stop all communications from PhotoMail please send email to email@example.com with your name, address, and, email id with the request to unsubscribe.
We use reasonable precautions to protect our users’ personal information and to store it securely. Sensitive information that is transmitted to us online (such as a credit card number) is 256-bit encrypted and is transmitted to us securely.
We keep your information for no longer than is necessary. We will retain your information for any period required by law. Where we are not under a legal obligation to retain your information, we will determine what is necessary by reference to the lawful basis for processing set out above and our legitimate interests. We do not intentionally collect any personally identifiable information from individuals under the age of 18.
