India Photo Festival, Hyderabad, presents an intense editing workshop with Photo Editor Dominique Hildebrand. This one-day workshop is suitable for emerging and professional photographers who are working on a long-term story or planning to develop their own story. This workshop will introduce the participants to the power of visual storytelling and the art of crafting an edit that communicates a cohesive style and message. Drawing on examples of projects she has worked on, Dominique will share what she looks for in a pitch and the process of shaping a story for publication.

The Indian Photo Festival (IPF) – Hyderabad, a Not-For-Profit initiative of Light Craft Foundation is India’s longest running international photography festival showcasing a wide range of photography from India and around the globe with a series of events, including talks and discussions, portfolio reviews, book launches, screenings & workshops. The IPF creates a platform for the professional and aspiring photographers, the photography lovers, and the public where the festival promotes the art of photography and at the same time addresses the social issues through the medium of photography.
About Dominique Hildebrand
Dominique Hildebrand is a visual editor and storyteller. Currently, she works as an associate photo editor at National Geographic for the science & environment team. She is a master’s candidate at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a focus on multimedia, photography and design.
Previously, Dominique was a Nat Geo photo editing intern and received her bachelor’s in photojournalism from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. While not working, Dominique spends time with her Russian tortoise and two cats or can be found hiking and camping.

Interested participants should apply with a portfolio of 15 images on a single theme. The deadline for acceptance is November 13th, and qualified applicants will be selected through a combination of the merit of their work and their personal statement, and the order of their application’s receipt. Successful applicants will be informed via email on Nov 15th.
